Abstract
This study examined publication trends and thematic developments in international research on the application of artificial intelligence to entrepreneurship development. The preliminary analysis examined bibliographic information, titles, and abstracts of 491 articles retrieved from Scopus and Web of Science, with recorded publication years ranging from 1986 to 2027. The temporal distribution showed that 2026 accounted for the largest number of publications, with 175 articles, followed by 2025 and 2024, with 120 and 75 articles, respectively. Examination of titles and abstracts identified machine learning, generative artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurial intention, deep learning, and entrepreneurial ecosystems as frequently occurring topics. Terms related to machine learning appeared in 122 articles, generative artificial intelligence in 90, entrepreneurship education in 82, and entrepreneurial intention in 49. A temporal comparison of content indicated that, alongside analytical and predictive applications of artificial intelligence, recent research has addressed the use of generative technologies in education, competency development, opportunity recognition, and entrepreneurial decision-making. All articles containing terms referring to generative artificial intelligence in their titles or abstracts had recorded publication years between 2023 and 2027. Overall, these preliminary findings indicate an expansion of artificial intelligence applications across the educational, cognitive, and managerial dimensions of entrepreneurship and provide a foundation for thematic screening and subsequent analysis of the field’s intellectual structure and scholarly networks.
